Prolific producer Classic Blue Jeans had another boost at Bendigo, Victoria, on Tuesday, when 2YO grand-daughter Desirable Stride cleared out for an impressive winning debut in a 1:58.6 rate for the 1650m.
Bromac Lodge have another grand-daughter of Classic Blue Jeans in young 3YO broodmare Can Can Bromac (Falcon Seelster-Cha Cha Bromac, by Art Major-Classic Blue Jeans), in foal to $3 million Somebeachsomewhere earner Captaintreacherous (1:47.1) for private sale.
Bromac Lodge Ltd sold two colts from the family at last month's NZ Premier Yearling Sale, Carlos Bromac (Bettor's Delight-Cha Cha Bromac), for $33,000, and Cassius Bromac (He's Watching-Cozette Bromac), for $14,000.
Desirable Stride (2f Art Major-Crown Counsel), a hot $1.40 favourite for the Michael Stanley stable, was untroubled to lead throughout.
She was a class above, clearing out by 19.9 metres, pacing her last 800m in 56.6s and her final 400m in 27.8s.
Her dam Crown Counsel (Western Hanover-Classic Blue Jeans) is now the dam of the winners of 67 races, headed by Our Cullens Crown (1:52, US), winner of 46 races (five NZ, 11 NSW, and 30 in the USA), for $490,044.
She's also the sam of Attorney Stride (1:57.5), 13 wins & $80,258, Falcon Crown (five wins & $44,876).
Crown Counsel (TT, 1:58.1), who won once from only two race starts, is a half-sister to eight other individual winners.
Their dam Classic Blue Jeans has left nine in 2:00 (including fast time-trialist Classic Art, p3, TT, 1:55.1; who raced only twice but didn't win).
The Classic Blue Jeans progeny are headed by Attorney General (1:48.4, US), formerly the fastest NZ-bred pacer.
Her other winners include Cullen Bromac (1:55.1, 20 wins), Crown Bromac (1:54.1, 15 wins), Captain Bromac (1:57.8, 15 wins), Chay Bromac (1:59.2, three), Chiquita Bromac (1:58.7, five), Mink Stride (five) and Cindy Bromac (1:57.6, three).
Crown Counsel is one of three daughters of Classic Blue Jean to have made their mark as broodmares.
Her unraced Life Sign daughter, Crown Defender, is the dam of four sub 1:58 winners, including the fast Australian pacers, Cruz Bromac (p3, 1:51.6, 1:50.7; 13 wins & $172,975) and Carter Bromac (p3, 1:52.4, 11 wins).
Another daughter Classic Art (by Artiscape) left only one foal leaving the smart West Australian winner Art Connoisseur (1:58.5), winner of 14 races and $83,660, dying prematurely in 2010.
