Bromac Lodge
Published by Jeff Scott in News · 26 March 2018
The family of Bromac Lodge broodmares, Zante Beach and Zeta Bromac, had a boost at Bathurst on Friday, March 23, when Glenledi Babe won a Gold Tiara Heat for the 2YO pacing fillies.

Glenledi Babe, having just her third start for Menangle-based New Zealander Tim Butt, led up as a $1.90 favourite and held in a 1:56.8 rate for the 1730m.

She preceded her first win with a creditable fourth at her second start in the Group Three Pink Bonnet at Menangle on March 2, when the winner Platinum Revolution, rated 1:54.7.

A daughter of the ill-fated Somebeachsomewhere, Glenledi Babe follows Zumba Bromac (1:58.1h, 8 Tasmanian wins) as the second winner from as many to race from Zoe Bromac, a now defunct unraced Red River Hanover daughter of Zante Beach (1:59, 16 wins).

Zante Beach has also the smart Bromac Lodge-bred winners, Zeta Bromac (p3, 1:55.8, 5 wins & 3 placings from only 9 3YO filly starts), (My) Zach Bromac (1:52h, US, 15 wins & $96,318), Zorro Bromac (1:56.6, 10 wins & $52,672) and Zion Bromac (one win from 5 3YO starts) for the leading Mark Purdon & Natalie Rasmussen stable.

Gemfire (2:00, 13 wins), the third dam of Glenledi Babe, is the dam of six individual winners including the big international winner Garnet River (1:50, US, 33 wins & $555,822), Western Blaze (1:53.7, 24 wins & $153,248) & The Godine Machine (p2, 1:58.5, 14 wins & $107,296).

Third dam Gemfire (2:00, 13 wins) is also the dam of Braeview Express, the 2-win dam of Dont Hold Back (p2, 1:53.7, 12 wins incl. the 2017 Aust. Breeders Crown 4YO Final & $213,438), Braeview Bomber (1:55.8, 13 wins & $105,517) & Machiatto (1:57.2, 9 wins & $51,144).
