A GOOD DRAW FOR ZEUSS BROMAC IN BREEDERS CROWN SEMI?
Published by Stu Bailey in News · 14 August 2019
The fall of the draws is ever so crucial in the big races, and it appears Zeuss Bromac may well have drawn a very cosy barrier in his semi-final of the Downbytheseaside Breeders Crown at Bendigo this Saturday night.
The Bettor’s Delight colt will follow out a gun runner in Mirragon, the horse he trailed in the heat at Shepparton on August 7, finishing boldly inside him to snare second money.
And it seems the same horse could well be his friend come semi-final night.
Mirragon leaves from gate one and has plenty of early pace, with Zeuss Bromac tucked right behind him in one on the second line.
It would seem they’ll be leading and trailing - early at least - a place young trainer-driver Zachary Butcher should be thrilled about if all goes to plan. A top three finish would comfortably secure a final berth, any further back than that and other results do come into play.
Zeuss Bromac comes through a strong heat at Shepparton and will again have to battle hard to beat the Emma Stewart runners, Mirragon, of course, and a red-hot Be Happy Mach (gate nine) now the winner of eight of nine starts.
The Mach Three colt was terrific in the heat, powering through a final 400m in 26.9 with some arrogance and will start a short-priced favourite to win again ($1.50 currently).
