Ace Bromac bounced back to winning form at Gloucester Park, Perth, on Friday, November 9, notching his first win in six starts for the season.
The win could be the start of a huge few days for his sire Falcon Seelster, who has Cruz Bromac shooting for Group One New Zealand Cup glory on Tuesday.
Ace Bromac, a well-performed son of "Falcon" and Agnes Patron, was a star qualifier at Ashburton two years ago for the Cran Dalgety stable, then was sold unraced to the Kyle Harper stable in Perth.
Friday's win was the seventh in 22 starts for Ace Bromac, who was co-bred by Bromac Lodge with Trevor Beaton.
The half-brother to Angus Bromac (1:54.3), Avalon Bromac (1:56.1) and $300,000 earner Aztec Bromac (1:52.3), took his earnings to just under $50,000.
Ace Bromac overcame the eight draw, settling three back ind the running line and outfinished the pacemaking Estocada to win by 7.5 metres in a 1:58.4 rate for the staying 2536m journey.
Half-brother Aztec Bromac also raced on Saturday night, finishing fifth at Menangle to the former Allstars pacer Cash N Flow (Mach Three-Karen Donna) in the Group Three $30,000 Kevin Robinson Free-For-All.
Agnes Patron, the Holmes Hanover-Anna Patron dam of Angus, Ace and Aztec Bromac, was sold by Bromac Lodge during the winter dispersal sale.
She currently has a two-year-old Sunshine Beach filly, a yearling filly by Ignatius's sire Roll With Joe on the ground, and was bred last season with the Bettor's Delight stallion Betting Line (p3, 1:47.2).
