CARLOS BROMAC IMPRESSIVE

Bromac Lodge mare Cha Cha Bromac (Art Major-Classic Blue Jeans), an unraced half-sister to one-time fastest NZ-bred pacer, Attorney General (1:48.4, US), has her second winner from as many to race.

Carlos Bromac a 3YO colt by champion sire Bettor's Delight from Cha Cha Bromac, delivered on debut in the Macca Lodge Mobile Pace at Invercargill on September 21.

A $33,000 NZ Yearling Sales buy from Bromac Lodge, Carlos Bromac was perfectly placed from the ace barrier on debut for the Woodend Beach Robert Dunn stable, being eased by driver John Dunn after the opening 200m.

Carlos Bromac won as he liked by a length and a half in 2:44.1 (2:00, mile rate) for the mobile 2200m, the leaders last 800m in 58.1s and 400m in 28s.

He joins year-older sister March, Wagga (NSW) winner, Rhianna Reigns (1:56.7 mile rate, 1740m) as early winners from Cha Cha Bromac, who turned nine last month.

Cha Cha Bromac has subsequently left the now 2YO colt, Blitzem Bromac (by Sunshine Beach), which was purchased by the NSW Vellas family, last December.

She was last served in January by the exciting young sire, A Rocknroll Dance.

Her dam, the grand former Bromac Lodge producing mare Classic Blue Jean, who died in June, left 10 individual winners, including nine in 2:00, headed by Attorney General (20 wins & $434,952).

Oher Classic Blue Jeans winners were, Cullen Bromac (1:55.1, 20 wins), Crown Counsel (TT, 1:58.1, one), Crown Bromac (1:54.1, 15 wins), Captain Bromac (1:57.8, 15 wins), Chay Bromac (1:59.2, three wins), Chiquita Bromac (1:58.7, five wins), Mink Stride (five wins), Cindy Bromac (1:56.6, four wins) and (Our) Charley Bromac (one win).

Her other daughters have also bred on, with Chiquita Bromac (McArdle-Classic Blue Jeans) leaving a smart first foal winner in Celerina (by Pet Rock), who notched her third win in the ,000 Kevin & Kay Semour 3YO Fillies Evolution Series Final at Menangle in late April in 1:57.5 (1609).

Another from Classic Blue Jeans, Classic Art (by Artiscape), didn't win in only two race starts, but time-trialed in 1:55.1 and died after leaving only one foal, Art Connoisseur (1:58.5, 14 wins & $83,660).

Crown Defender, the unraced Life Sign daughter of Classic Blue Jeans, has kept the family flying, leaving last year's NZ Free-For-All winner and Inter Dominion Final third place-getter, Cruz Bromac (1:50.1, 20 wins & $544,415).

She's also the dam of other smart winners, Carter Bromac (p3, 1:52.4, 11 wins & $64,005), Churchill Bromac (1:57.3, 13 wins) and Coltrane Bromac (1:57.5, eight wins).

Crown Defender is also the grand-dam of Cassius Bromac, race-timed in 1:54.9 when third on debut in last season's Group Three NZ Kindergarten Stakes at Wyndham.

Another top producer from Classic Blue Jeans is Crown Counsel (by Western Hanover), who has left four individual winners of 67 races, including (Our) Cullens Crown (1:52, US; 46 wins & $491,044); Attorney Stride (1:57.5, 13 wins & $80,258); Falcon Crown (five wins & $44,876) and last season's debut Australian 2YO winner Desirable Stride (1:58.6, mile rate, 1650m).

Carlos Bromac is scheduled to race quickly again in the south for the Dunn stable.

He is expected to back up at the upcoming Winton meeting on Thursday, with other south feature early targets.

Crystal Bromac, a daughter of former Bromac Lodge broodmare Congo Breeze (1:52.8, US) was also represented by a maiden winner at Invercargill on Saturday.

Templeton trainer-driver, Jimmy Curtin, delivered with her Emmersyn Lee, who retired her dam Crystal Bromac (American Ideal-Congo Breeze, by Holmes Hanover-Congo Girl) after three unplaced grass starts.

A 3YO filly by Betterthancheddar, Emmersyn Lee made the most of the race draw in the Regent Car Court Fillies & Mares Pace, leading throughout to win in a 2:02 rate for the mobile 2200m.

Congo Girl's first two fillies to race were the useful fillies, Chanelle Bromac (p2, 1:59, 7 wins & $49,533, by Mach Three), and Cougar Bromac (p3, 1:57.4, 9 wins & $57,346).
