Celerina, the first foal from the five-win mare Chiquita Bromac (McArdle-Classic Blue Jeans), won the ,000 Kevin & Kay Semour 3YO Fillies Evolution Series Final at Menangle on Saturday, April 27.
The Pet Rock filly preceded her feature win with a third in the Wagga Oaks, and is gathering in momentum with three wins and five placings in 11 starts.
Trained in Victoria by Laura Crossland and David Moran, and driven by Jarrod Alchin, Celerina worked to the front from the seven gate in the fillies series final, holding by 6.7 metres in a career best 1:57.5 for the 1609m.
Her dam Chiquita Bromac, exported before racing in New Zealand, took a mark of 1:58.7 in Victoria, winning $33,963.
Celerina's grand-dam Classic Blue Jeans was a grand producer for Bromac Lodge, leaving a stunner first-up in Attorney General (1:48.4, US), formerly NZ’S fastest-bred pacer.
