Courage Under Fire's rising Australian two-year-old star, Pandering, scored his fourth win from six starts at Tabcorp Park, Melton, on Saturday, June 29.
Pandering led from gate two as a short-priced $1.30 favourite in the second semi-final of the $20,000 Always B Miki Vicbred Super Series.
He was too good again in the hands of Kima Frenning, this time winning by 10.9 metres in a 1:57.9 rate for the 2240m on a rain-affected track.
The Emma Stewart-trained colt was a Group One winner of the $100,000 2019 "The Allwood" Final for two-year-olds at Globe Derby Park, Adelaide, on June 8.
Pandering overcame the second row on that occasion to win in as a hot $1.10 favourite, clearing ou by 12.5 metres in a 1:58.1 rate for the 1800m.
His fastest winning mile rate to date is 1:56.8 over 2150m, achieved when winning the first heat of the Vicbred Super Series at Bendigo on June 18.
Pandering is the ninth winner from nine foals to race from his Artsplace dam Pandalay Bay, who raced only once.
He’s a half-brother to earlier top US-bred winners, Panimujom (1:50.8), The Mgm Pan (1:53), The Pan Flaingo (1:52.6) and The Pan Poobah (1:50.8).
Pandering’s sire, former six-time Derby winner Courage Under Fire, had his stocks kept high on the NZ scene this season by top four-year-old, Turn It Up (1:54.5, 11 wins from 15 starts for $437,390).
Courage Under Fire again has chilled semen available from Bromac Lodge next season, for $4000 (plus GST), payable on a live foal.
