Falcon Seelster's 10-year-old son Hugh Hefner again showed his longevity in North America by winning at Harrah's Philadelphia on August 8 over the mile in 1:51.8 (10ths).
A gelded son from Royal Chanel (B G's Bunny-Kelly's Decision, by Apollo's Way-Royal Decision), Hugh Hefner initially won eight of 43 NZ starts for $38,721 for former owner Graeme Rogerson, who trained him for all his NZ wins with Peter Blanchard.
Hugh Hefner then won a further nine races in Queensland, Australia, before being on-sold to North America.
The durable pacer has added another 12 USA wins to his record, with career earnings nearing $300,000.
Falcon Seelster also sired Falcon Harry, a 4YO, to win at Hobart on Sunday, his fifth win in 23 starts for $32,700.
"Falcon" also featured as the damsire of Friday night's impressive Auckland winner Simon, a 4YO Well Said gelding from the smart Falcon Seelster mare Impish, who ran clear from the trail to win a 2:00 rate (2200m), the leaders last 800m in 55.8s.
Semen straws for the remarkable Falcon Seelster, and another making a big contribution on the stud scene in Courage Under Fire, are available from Bromac Lodge this season.
