JIINGOES, JINGLES BROMAC HAS TURNED THE CORNER

Jingles Bromac, rewarded for consistency with his second Cambridge win of the season for Hunterville trainer, Scott Dickson, on Friday, October 18, has come of age.

He notched his second Cambridge win in his last five starts, being the runner-up in the other three, on Friday, October 18, in the hands of David Butcher.

After speeding out from the five barrier, Butcher and Jingles Bromac dictated the play, coming clear to win easily by a length and three-quarters in a 2:00.2 rate for the mobile 2200m.

The Bromac Lodge-bred pacer has fitted in well to the farm routine since going north last April and looks like he should cope with a rise to a 56 rating this week.

Dickson, formerly from Ashburton , trains the standardbreds, and partner Lydia Pickford, who co-races Jingles Bromac, trains gallopers from their Rata dairy share-milking property.

Jingles Bromac initially won his maiden at his third start at Forbury, 2017, for Canterbury trainer Bruce Hutton, and former 10-time NZ champion reinsman, Dexter Dunn.

However, after a run of unplaced efforts, he went south to Matt Saunders, managing a third in six starts, before also battling in his early winter racing for Dickson.

Jingles Bromac turned things around with  third at Cambridge on June 30, and since August 30, and hasn't looked back since turning six.

The gelded son of top sire Bettor's Delight is a half-brother to Juniper Bromac (p3, 1:55.8, three wins from only 11 starts),  and other winners Jazz Bromac (1:58.9), Jonty Bromac (1:56.7), Jade Bromac (1:54.3), Jessica Bromac and Yasmine Bromac.

Her dam Jasmine Bromac, by Falcon Seelster, is from Janelle Bromac, the dam of four individual winners including $100,000 winner Justine Bromac (1:54.2, US, 25 wins).

Jenny Bromac (Ok Bye-Janelle Bromac), a five-win sister to Justine Bromac, has bred on becoming the grand-dam though three-win mare Julianne Bromac of the speedy Pay Me Christian mare, C A Penny (1:55.3, 6 wins & $65,160), winner of the Listed 2016 Nevele R Sires Stakes Southern Mares Classic at Addington.

This also the family of Charlou's Seelster (1:54.2, US, 33 USA wins & $151,255) and an old favourite of the late Bob McArdle in Montini Bromac (1:59.2, 13 wins from 30 starts in NZ & USA).
