Squire, a 5YO gelded son of Trinny Bromac, an unraced Falcon Seelster half-sister to former Bromac Lodge broodmare Tanisa Bromac (TT, 1:58.1), continues to make his mark in Australia.
Formerly a $47,000 Sydney Australia Pacing Gold Yearling Sale purchase for the Mark Jones stable at Burnham, Squire qualified at two in NZ, then was sold to race in Australia.
The Somebeachsomewhere gelding racked up his 14th career win in 48 starts when taking out the first at Albion Park, Brisbane, on Saturday, September 21 for the Kerryann and Robbie Morris team.
He lifted his earnings over ,000 on Saturday, controlling the race from the two barrier in the Garrards Horse & Hound Band 5 Pace.
The $1.90 favourite held by 2.8 metres in a 1:56.7 rate of the 2138m.
Three starts back, Squire lowered his lifetime mile rate best to 1:52.9 when winning over 1660m at Albion Park.
Squire's dam, Trinny Bromac, from Tanisa Vance (Vance Hanover-Tanisa), is a half-sister to $404,654 winner Ross The Boss (1:50, US, 10 NZ wins, 24 USA wins), along with Tallyho Bromac (1:53.7, mile rate, Aust, 23 wins & ,147), Kotare Jaeger (p2, 1:56.8, 10 wins $72,343), Habeebee (formerly Toffee Bromac, 1:54.8 US, six wins) and Tanisa Bromac (TT, 1:58.4).
COURAGE GELDING TORRID BROMAC WINS AGAIN
Tanisa Bromac is currently represented in the USA by $155,000 earner, Torrid Bromac, who won again on Saturday (US time), this time a $11,000 pace at The Downs at Mohegan Sun, Pocono, Pennsylvania, in 1:51.6 (fifths).
Torrid Bromac, a now 7YO entire by the Bromac Lodge frozen semen stallion available sire, the former six-time Derby winner Courage Under Fire, lowered his lifetime best to (1:50.4, fifths) on a five-furlongs (1000m) track last month.
Tanisa Bromac was sold by Bromac Lodge to the former NZ owner of Torrid Bromac, Max Taylor, last year.
She is also the dam of the other good winners, Tijuana Bromac (1:57.5, 15 wins & $124,897), (Black) Mr Mach (1:56.5, 10 wins & $88,980), and the minor winners, Trinity Bromac (1:56.6, four wins) and Twitter Bromac (1:55.9, four wins).
