Published by Jeff Scott in News · 29 October 2019

Tilly Bromac, a one-win Santanna Blue Chip half-sister to Tas Man Bromac (1:56.5), Trendy Bromac (1:54.6) and Taroona Bromac (1:55.7), is off the mark as a broodmare, leaving Baducci to win a 3YO pace at Parkes, NSW, on Saturday night.

Balducci ($2.30 second favourite), a colt by Mach Three and the first foal from Tilly Bromac, trailed hot favourite, Karloo Boudacious ($1.75), then dashed away with turning for home, winning by 8 metres in a 2:01.6 rate for the 2040m.

He had placed third at his previous two October starts for owner, Jenny Turnbull, and trainer, Amanda Turnbull, both in sub 1:59 rates over 1730m at Bathurst.

Balducci, bred by long-time Temuka enthusiasts, Ivan and Ann Behrnes, was secured by them in August 2017 at the end of her 24-start race career for Ashburton trainer, Simon Adlam.

Tilly Bromac's only win came on the grass at Waterlea for the Five Allenton Bowlers Syndicate, Simon Adlam and K McLeod.

Meanwhile, Taroona Bromac stretched his unbeaten winning sequence to three at the Central Wheatbelt country track at Kellerberrin, on Sunday, October 27.

The former big Nigel McGrath-trained pacer also won three and was only once beaten in four NZ starts.

He's won his three WA starts at the Central Wheatbelt by a combined total of 58.4 metres for successful West Australaian trainers, Greg and Skye Bond.

Sunday's front-running win as a prohibitive $1.03 favourite was his shortest winning margin, but comfortable again, by 4.9 metres, rating 2:01.1 for the mobile 2130m. Taroona Bromac quickene over his last 800m in 57.5s an his last 400m in 28.8s.

Tasmcmanian (McArdle-Shy Devil), the dam of Taroona Bromac, former NZ 3YO record-holder Tas Man Bromac and Trendy Bromac, and grand-dam of Balcuddi, was exported to Australia last year.

She showed ability when first tried in North America by trainer Peter Walsh, but was unraced due to injrury.

Breeding-wise, she belongs to a huge-winning USA family, being a half-sister to nine winners, six in 2:00, including Art's Conquest (p3, 1:50, 12 wins & $880,576), Lifeotheparty (p2, 1:54), Angaal (p3, 1:52.4) and Pop Art (p3, 1:53).

Her dam Shy Devil (p3, 1:53.6, 10 wins & $169,185) has also left fillies to have bred on, with Angaal leaving Little Brown Jug Final runner-up, Western Fame (p3, 1:50.2h).

Pop Art has left Part Shark (1:51, 25 wins & $354,014), Rustlin Goodtime (1:50.6) and Pop Diva (p3, 1:52.6, herself the dam of fast 3YO, Beat The Drum (1:49.4, 16 wins & $476,969); and Art Of Design, dam of $2 million winner Chancey Lady (1:48.8, 43 wins) and Camille (1:48.6, 37 wins & $1.2 million).
