Makie Bromac, a half-sister by champion sire Bettor's Delight to last Saturday's Freehold, USA, winner Torrid Bromac, is being offered at the NZ Premier Yearling Sale in Christchurch on February 14.
Torrid Bromac, a smart son of Courage Under Fire, won eight of 38 NZ starts for $64,663, including two track records at three.

He paced 2:25.1 (1:56.7, mile rate) over 2000m at Omakau, Central Otago, and 3:11.8 (1:58.7, mile rate) over 2600m at Oamaru.

Torrid Bromac has continued the good form since being exported to North America last year.

Saturday's win was his fifth in the USA, the quickest in 1:54.4 (fifths) on a half-mile track.

His latest win was from the four gate on the half-mile circuit at Freehold in 1:55.4 (fifths) for trainer Chris Marino and driver Pat Berry.

Torrid Bromac is the quickest of five individual winners for the consistent-producing Bromac Lodge mare Tanisa Bromac (TT, 1:58.4).

She's also left other smart winners, Tijuana Bromac (1:57.5, 15 wins & $124,897) and (Black) Mr Mach (1:56.5, nine wins & $84,109), Trinity Bromac (two) and Twitter Bromac (one).

Tanisa Bromac has left a sixth qualifier in Verdelho, a Mach Three filly who qualified at two for trainer Brent Mangos at Pukekohe in June in a 2:03.8 rate (2050m).

Makie Bromac's grand-dam Tanisa Vance (Vance Hanover-Tanisa), won once from just 10 starts.

However, she's a half-sister to big international winner of $400,000 in Ross The Boss (1:50, US, 10 NZ wins, 24 USA wins), along with Tallyho Bromac (1:53.7 mile rate, Aust, 22 wins & $131,031), Kotare Jaeger (p2, 1:56.8, 10 wins $72,343) and Habeebee (formerly Toffee Bromac, 1:54.8, US, six wins).

Other half-sisters in Extra BG and Tessa Bromac, have bred on at stud.

Extra BG, the dam of former NZ 3YO mile record holder Kotare Mach (p3, 1:53, 16 wins & $268,138), is also the dam of another fast miler in ex-NZ pacer Kotare Yael (1:50.4, fifths, USA), who won seven of 32 NZ starts for $51,938 for the Robert Dunn stable.

A minor winner from Extra BG in Kotare Yalta, is the dam of another big winner in Kotare Roland (1:54.7 m.r., 1720m, Aust, 20 wins & $226,945).

Extra BG is also the dam of Kotare Yoyo, who left a smart winner in Kotare Yaakov (1:59, eight wins), while another from Extra BG in Kotare Yangtze is the unraced Falcon Seelster dam of Biella Star (1:59.9, eight wins & $85,597), Kotare Casino (four wins), Kotare Mahal (1:58.4, mile rate, 2000m, six wins from 21 starts for $46,425) and Kotare Mahdi (1:57.1, 10 wins & $58,803).

Tessa Bromac is the dam of former smart NSW winner, Tullow (1:50.2 fifths USA, a lifetime winner of 16 races for $149,927).

This also the family of big International performer Fake Denario (1:48.4 US, former Aust. Breeders Crown champ & winner of $780,780), Grinaldi (1:57.3 m.r, 2200m, 10 wins), Play More (1:52.2, US, 43 wins & $217,783) and Mystic Master (1:59, five wins), Slugger (p3, TT, 1:56.4, 10 wins), and $100,000 winner Most Happy Lavros (1:53).
