Former smart NZ pacer Torrid Bromac notched his seventh USA win on February 1 and has another chance for victory at Yonkers Raceway, New York, on Saturday (NZ time).

He paced 1:55.1 (fifth) in the cool Northern Hemisphere winter conditions to win on the half-mile at Yonkers last week, outside his 1:54.4 (fifths) best there on a half-mile track.

His continued good North American form is timely as his younger half-sister Makie Bromac goes under the hammer as Lot 248 at the NZ Premier Yearling Sale in Christchurch next Wednesday.

By champion sire Bettor's Delight, Makie Bromac is a good chance for buyers to get into a very strong winning family.

Another close relative in former big Australian winner Tullow (1:50.2, fifths, USA), is also racing well in North America, having won 16 races lifetime for $149,927.

Torrid Bromac is the quickest of five individual winners for successful Bromac Lodge producer Tanisa Bromac (TT, 1:58.4).

Her other winners include notable winners, Tijuana Bromac (1:57.5, 15 wins & $124,897) and (Black) Mr Mach (1:56.5, nine wins & $84,109), and minor winners, Trinity Bromac (two) and Twitter Bromac (one).

Tanisa Bromac has a sixth qualifier in Verdelho, a Mach Three filly who qualified at two for trainer Brent Mangos at Pukekohe last June in a 2:03.8 rate (2050m).

Tanisa Bromac's dam Tanisa Vance (Vance Hanover-Tanisa), won once from just 10 starts and is a half-sister to four "black type" winners, headed by big international winner of $400,000 in Ross The Boss (1:50, US, 10 NZ wins, 24 USA wins).

Her other top winners include Tallyho Bromac (1:53.7, mile rate, Aust, 23 wins & ,147), Kotare Jaeger (p2, 1:56.8, 10 wins $72,343) and Habeebee (formerly Toffee Bromac, 1:54.8, US, six wins).

Another half-sister in Extra BG became the dam of former NZ 3YO mile record holder Kotare Mach (p3, 1:53, 16 wins & $268,138), and another fast miler in ex-NZ pacer Kotare Yael (1:50.4, fifths, USA), who won seven of 32 NZ starts for $51,938 for the Robert Dunn stable.

A minor winner from Extra BG in Kotare Yalta, is the dam of another big winner in Kotare Roland (1:54.7 m.r., 1720m, Aust, 20 wins & $226,945).

Extra BG is also the dam of Kotare Yoyo, who left a smart winner in Kotare Yaakov (1:59, eight wins), while another from Extra BG in Kotare Yangtze is the unraced Falcon Seelster dam of Biella Star (1:59.9, eight wins & $85,597), Kotare Casino (four wins), Kotare Mahal (1:58.4, mile rate, 2000m, six wins from 21 starts for $46,425) and Kotare Mahdi (1:57.1, 10 wins & $58,803).

Another half-sister in Tessa Bromac is the dam of the earlier-mentioned former smart NSW winner, Tullow.

This also the family of big International winner Fake Denario (1:48.4 US, former Aust. Breeders Crown champ & winner of $780,780), Grinaldi (1:57.3 m.r, 2200m, 10 wins), Play More (1:52.2, US, 43 wins & $217,783) and Mystic Master (1:59, five wins), Slugger (p3, TT, 1:56.4, 10 wins), and $100,000 winner Most Happy Lavros (1:53).
