Trendy Bromac kept the growing broodmare credits for former Bromac Lodge mare Tasmcmanian moving when she won at the Yarra Valley day meeting in Victoria on Friday, December 13.

The six-year-old daughter of Mach Three was too good from the trail for driver Josh Aiken, delivering as a $2.40 favourite for owner, Dianne Reilly and trainer, David Aiken.

She rated 1:56.7 for the mobile 2150m for her seventh win in 31 career starts, taking her earnings to $55,154.

A 1:54.6 miler in NZ when initially prepared in Canterbury by Michael House, Trendy Bromac shone in Victoria on Friday, while her younger half-brother Taroona Bromac found the challenge of winning the $200,000 4YO Gold Nugget in Perth insurmountable at Group One level.

Taroona Bromac found a good run two back on the outer but tired to finish 11th, as $3.70 favourite Shockwave (4g Mach Three-Here For The Money, by Rich And Spoilt) won in a strong 1:56.3 rate for the 2565m.

This was only the second time "Taroona" had finished unplaced in eight West Australian starts, having won six times already in West Australia since late September for the Greg and Skye Bond stable.

Tasmcmanian (McArdle-Shy Devil), the dam of Trendy, Taroona, and Tas Man Bromac (1:56.5, 14 wins & $162,086), was exported to Australia by Bromac Lodge in July.

Tilly Bromac (by Santanna Blue Chip), a one-race winner from Tasmcmanian, has left NSW winner Balducci, a 3YO winner at his third start at Parkes on October 26.

Tasmcmanian's second-to-last NZ foal was Tas Girl Bromac (3f American Ideal), a $15,000 buy at the 2018 NZ Yearling Sales by New Jersey-trainer, expatriate NZ trainer Chris Ryder, who has her now qualified with Clevedon trainer, Barry Purdon.

Her final NZ foal Twilight Bromac, a 2YO colt by Art Major, was a $40,000 NZ Bloodstock Yearling Sales purchase this year for trainer Nigel McGrath.
