Yasmine Bromac, a first season daughter of 2012 Auckland Cup winner Sir Lincoln (1:54), from Jasmine Bromac (Falcon Seelster-Janelle Bromac), dented reputations with her maiden win at Auckland on Friday, February 16.
Prepared at Pukekohe by Ray Green for Lincoln Farms Bloodstock Ltd, Yasmine Bromac secured a one-one sit for Zac Butcher.
She unwound strongly late to wear down The Orange Agent's younger half-sister Cheesy Fingers (parked) by a head, and promising 2YO filly Arma Indie, in 2:47.9 (2:02.8, mile rate), for the 2200m.
Yasmine Bromac, who preceded her win with a couple of thirds at her previous six starts, was a former $15,000 buy at the NZ Premier Yearling Sale in Christchurch.
Her unraced dam Jasmine Bromac (half-sister to $100,000 winner Justine Bromac (1:54.2, 25 USA wins), has a 100 per cent starters to winners record.
She's now the dam of seven to race for seven winners, Jazz Bromac (1:58.9, mile rate, 2200m), Jonty Bromac (1:56.7), Jade Bromac (1:54.3), Juniper Bromac (p3, 1:55.8), Jessica Bromac and Jingles Bromac.
Juniper Bromac's Art Major colt (J R Bromac) was passed in for $15,000 at last week’s Australasian Classic Yearling Sale at Karaka.
This is also the family of 2016 NZ Sires Stakes Southern Mares Classic winner C A Penny (1:55.3, mile rate, 1950m), Montini Bromac (1:59.1, eight wins from 16 NZ starts, and six USA wins), Charlou's Seelster (1:54.2, US, 33 USA wins & $151,255) and Albert Chief (1:50.6, US, 18 Aust. wins & 45 USA wins for $478,369).
