The family of Bromac Lodge mare Zante Beach, and her recently sold daughter Zeta Bromac (p3, 1:55.5) and weanling daughter by Bettor's Delight, received a boost at Gloucester Park, Perth, on Friday, April 27.
Machiatto, a younger half-brother to last year's Australasian Breeders Crown 4YO Final winner Dont Hold Back (p2 1:53.7), also lowered his best mile rate to 1:53.7 (1720m).
The 4YO Mach Three gelding, racing for the Aiden Warwick stable, led throughout for driver Aldo Cortopassi, to rack up his his 10th win in 36 starts, taking his earnings to $56,588.
He had previous best winning mile rate of 1:57.2 over 1690m at Shepparton, Victoria, set last October.
Machiatto, Dont Hold Back (12 wins & $213,435), by Courage Under Fire, and his brother Braeview Bomber (1:55.8, 13 wins & $106,543), are the first three to race from their dam Braeview Express, a two-win Badlands Hanover half-sister to Zante Beach (1:59, 16 wins & $115,160).
Braeview Epress and Zante Beach (by Fake Left) are also half-sisters to the big-winning former Tasmanian Derby winner Garnet River (1:50, US), 33 wins & $555,822; and other sub 2:00 winners, The Godine Machine (1:58.8, six wins), and Western Blaze (1:53.7, 25 wins & $167,310).
Another half-sister in the unraced Trojan Fire, the Bettor's Delight dam of Concealment (1:55.3), six wins from 16 starts for $60,580 including the 2017 Australiasian Breeders Crown 2YO colts and geldings Silver.
Gemfire (2:00), the Torado Hanover dam of Zante Beach, Braeview Express, Garnet River, The Godine Machine and Western Blaze, was also a good Victorian-winning mare, winning 13 races and $109,566.
Zante Beach, last served in January by the ill-fated Somebeachsomewhere (1:46.4), is the dam of four smart winners to date.
They are (My) Zach Bromac (1:52, US, 15 combined wins, NZ, Aust., and the USA, for $95,286), Zorro Bromac (1:56.6, 10 wins & $52,767), Zeta Bromac (p3, 1:55.5, five wins from only nine starts) and Zion Bromac (1:59.6, mile rate, 2600m), winner of two of seven 3YO starts this term for the top Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen stable.
Since leaving Zion Bromac, Zante Beach has left a now 2YO sister to Zeta Bromac (by Mach Three).
The first two foals from Zoe Bromac, an unraced Red River Hanover mare from Zante Beach, have also made their marks.
Zoe Bromac is the dam of Glenledi Babe (p2, 1:56.8), a Somebeachsomewhere filly winner of a Bathurst Gold Tiara heat, and runner-up in the $100,000 Gold Tiara Final from only four starts for the Tim Butt stable; and good Tasmanian winner Zumba Bromac (1:58.1), eight wins & $54,617.
