In-form ex-Aussie Soho Lennon A, from the family of former Bromac Lodge mate Happy Dreamer (Son Of Afella-Dreamy Atom) has completed a New York hat-trick in his latest USA racing.
Now 10 to Northern Hemisphere time, the Mach Three-Dream Royale gelding trailed mostly in last Sunday's $22,000 pace at Yonkers, New York, and finished best to win by 1 length and a half in 1:56 around the half-mile circuit.
Soho Lennon began his hat-trick with a Freehold win (also half-mile track) on December 21, and repeated early in January at Yonkers.
Trained by Doug Dilloiain jun, Soho Lennon has career earnings of just over $560,000, from 41 career wins in 150 starts.
During his earlier racing in West Australia, he was a Group Two winner of the 2015 $50,000 NIghts Of Thunder at Gloucester Park.
He's one of three useful Aust-bred winners from big-winning mare Dream Royale (1:53.6 US, 22 wins & $1455,068), the Beach Towel-Dreamy Atom dam of other useful pacers in Slice Of Paradise (1:56.9) and Rocknroll Dude (1:57, five wins).
Grand-dam Dreamy Atom, the Soky's Aom-Lumber Lie dam of Western Dream (p2, 1:58.5; p3, 1:56.3, 14 wins from 27 starts & $336,361), the 2005 NZ 2YO & 2006 3YO NZ Pacing Filly of the Year, and former Bromac Lodge mare Happy Dreamer, is the dam of seven individual winners, also leaving former WA Derby third place-getter Tisadream (1:50f, US, 16 wins & $146,296), Dream Royale (1:53.6, US, 22 wins & $145,067), Presidential Dream (1:53.2, US, 4 wins), and Watch The Dream (1:56.6, 4 wins & $31,847).
Dreamy Atom daughters to have already bred on well include Western Dream herself by leaving five individual winners including the 2011 Addington PGG Wrightson NZ Yearling Sales 2YO Open Pace winner, Western Dream (1:55.6, 19 wins & $447,536), and Cullen Time (1:58.4, 3 wins).
Exotic Stride, a one-win sister to Western Dream (Badlands Hanover-Dreamy Atom), has left Real Stride (1:51.9, 15 wins & $147,720) and Bullet Stride (p2, 1:54.7, seven wins & $54,075).
Dreamy Lover, an Artiscape mare who placed four times but failed to win in 19 starts, left the useful Bettor's Delight winner, Western Delight (1:51.2, US, 3 NZ wins).
The family has been in the limelight in NZ in recent months though the impeccable form of the Allstars-trained 3YO filly Amazing Dream, a daughter of champion sire Bettor's Delight and Christian Dreamer, a Christian Cullen-Dreamy Atom mare, who qualified for breeders, Vin and Daphne Devery, but never raced.
