Former promising Canterbury pacer Taroona Bromac (4g Western Ideal-Tasmcmanian), is unbeaten in both West Australia starts for the Greg and Skye Bond stable.
The half-brother to Tas Man Bromac (1;56.5, 14 wins & $162,086) and Trendy Bromac ((1:54.6, six wins & $50,764) was hotly backed down to $1.05 favouritism at the Central Wheatbelt meeting on Sunday, September 29.
He made a one-act affair of the Kodj-Kodjin MS Pace, clearing out by 39.3 metres to win in a 1:57.9 rate for the 2130m.
Taroona Bromac also a $1.05 favourite, first-up for the Bonds' and driver Ryan Warwick, the previous Sunday at the Central Wheatbelt meeting, won by 14.2 metres on that occasion in a 2:01.9 rate for the longer 2530m.
The big Bromac Lodge-bred pacer was beaten into second, first-up, on the grass in January for West Melton trainer Nigel McGrath, but had impressed winning his next three in NZ.
Former owners, Bromac Lodge Ltd, Barry Dent and Todd Heller, made the decision to sell to team Bond and their connections after Taroona Bromac rated a smart 1:55.7 (1980m) to win at Addington on July 12.
The late-blooming 3YO showed a fast turn of foot in front over his last 800m in 55.6s and his final 400m in 26.9s to beat Go Kiwi by three lengths.
Now four, Taroona Bromac should continue to make his mark in West Australia.
His McArdle dam, the US-bred Tasmcmanian, also the dam of minor winner Tilly Bromac and a 2YO qualifier Tempest Bromac (2:00.3), was also exported to Australia in July.
Tasmcmanian, unraced due to injury, is s half-sister to nine winners, six in 2:00, including Art's Conquest (p3, 1:50, 12 wins & $880,576), Lifeoftheparty (p2, 1:54), Angaal (p3, 1:52.4) and Pop Art (p3, 1:53).
