The rich Breeders Crown Final is now the realistic goal for smart Bromac Lodge-bred pacer Zeuss Bromac after a slick performance in his Australian debut last night (Wed, Aug 7).
Contesting the opening heat of the 2019 Breeders Crown series, the Bettor’s Delight colt sped over from the outside gate to tackle for the lead, found the front, then handed up to the Emma Stewart-trained Mirragon to find the trail.
In the end only hot-pot favourite Be Happy Mach, previously unbeaten in just one of eight starts for Stewart, proved more powerful, moving to the parked position and grinding out a huge win, pacing the final 400m in 26.9 with Zeuss Bromac in pursuit up the passing lane with an impressive sprint of his own.
The son of Zeta Bromac (5 wins) will now head to the semi-finals at Bendigo on August 17 which leads to the ultimate prize on August 24 at Tabcorp Park Melton.
It was an encouraging start to his Australian campaign, being used early off the mobile arm and still sprinting hard at the finish bodes ever so well for the dazzling colt.
